She’s got legs, she knows how to use them

Legs. ZZ Top's "Legs" is one of my favorite songs to walk to when doing a Figure T-walk on a bodybuilding stage. It just makes me smile from the inside out and boosts my confidence level.

It's no surprise that I can hear the song in my head whenever we start our leg day workout, which is now at least 4 days a week!

One of the best questions I've been asked in the weeks since we started these workouts is "how can you even walk the next day?"

It's actually been pretty easy. How?

  1. Staggered workouts with one main Power Day (usually, Friday) with two days of rest before repeating everything all over again
  2. Added in quality supplements
  3. 1 gallon of water a day & healthy eating
  4. Daily stretching

The Workouts

  • Monday - Full Leg Day, warming the body up
  • Tuesday - Glutes & Hamstrings
  • Wednesday - Upper Body
  • Thursday - Quads
  • Friday - Full Leg Day, 5x5

The Supplements

  • Healthpak - main vitamins & minerals, fish oil, grape seed extract, CoQ and a liver strengthener.
  • Vitamin D - because I know mine is always low, seems to help improve my overall mood too.
  • Leucine - the single amino acid I take immediately post workout.

The Nutrition

This is pretty easy and always pretty much the same. Egg whites, organic meats, vegan cheeses, fresh vegetables and limiting the grains and sugars. I also try to avoid anything that says "Natural Flavors" on the ingredient list. These are all lessons learned from our 21 Day Detox program.

If you're looking for some recipes, we've been posting them all here.

That's it! We're four weeks in and loving the results.
