Franks and Beans

For so many, this is a childhood favorite and one your kids will love. However, the traditional version for franks and beans is loaded with conventional grain fed beef/bacon and pinto beans (and a whole bunch of sugar for most recipes). This version is super clean and packs a very beneficial fiber punch with the white kidney beans*. Enjoy!

Serve these with a fresh salad dressed with our home-made italian dressing!

Franks and Beans

Classic Franks and Beans done healthier!

  • Skillet with lid
  • 2-3 pieces Pastured bacon (Nitrate and nitrite free!)
  • 4-6 All Beef Grass Fed Hot dogs - chopped (I used the mini hot dogs from Butcher Box, but regular hot dogs will work too.)
  • 1/2 Onion (chopped)
  • 2 cans Organic Cannellini beans with liquid (keep liquid, don't drain)
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-3 Tbsp Low or No Sugar Ketchup (I use the Organic Thrive Brand, Start with two, then taste and 3rd one if needed.)
  • 1-2 Tbsp Coconut Sugar (Start with one, then taste and 2nd one if needed.)
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon or Regular Mustard
  1. Chop up raw bacon pieces. Add bacon and chopped onion to pan. Cook until onion is translucent.

  2. Add chopped up hot dogs, beans and sauces. Stir.

  3. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
