Slow Cooked BBQ Chicken

There is nothing better than slow roasted chicken when it comes to being tender!

Slow Cooked BBQ Chicken

Classic BBQ chicken that is just a tad healthier

  • Oven
  • 13x9 or bigger pan
  • rack
  • Spices / greens
  • 2 lbs Skin on / bone in chicken thighs (Use organice pasture raised)
  • 3-4 Tbsp BBQ Sauce (Use super low sugar, or one without sugar)
  • 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil
  1. Marinate chicken in BBQ sauce and olive oil. Ideal is 3-4 hours, but do it for at least 30 min.

  2. Place rack on baking sheet. Bake chicken at 400 degress for 1 hour. Want to make clean up easier, line pan first with aluminum foil.

dinner, lunch

This chicken is so tender and pairs well with any side dish. I served it with home made sweet potato fries and roasted broccoli. The key with the BBQ sauce here is to make sure that it is low sugar, but not with any added artificial sweeteners. Look at Thrive Market or your local health foods store. Stevia or monk fruit / balsalmic vinegar are great options for making it sweeter.

This recipe is detox approved, and if the BBQ sauce is made with Stevia or balsalmic vinegar #keto approved too!
