You’ve heard of cocoa, but have you heard of cacao? Its the amazingly good super food that you want in your shakes.
Cacao (the one with the “o”) is the ancient maya feel good food from un-roasted cacao beans. This super food has more magnesium than spinach, no sugar and 2/3 of it is all fiber! Additionally – find an organic one and it is non-gmo, kosher, fair trade, gluten free and vegan.
While you can add it into anything (keep checking back for our brownie recipe) it served up some chocolatey deliciousness for my coffee smoothie. When your sweet tooth creeps up and you need something to quench your hunger craving – this fiber rich smoothie will do that, with just the right amount of coffee kick.
Cacao Coffee Shake

- Blender
Ingredients
- 1/2 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1/2 C. Coffee I prefer a dark roast, but any will work, even decaf
- 1 Scoop Protein of Choice I love my Titan Isolate
- 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Organic Cacao Powder Be sure it ends in an "o"
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients above with a few ice cubes.
- Pour in a fancy glass cup and enjoy!
